Paris Saint-Germain could face punishment from French professional football league after fans caused trouble in latest match

Paris Saint-Germain beat Strasbourg 4-2 at home in Ligue 1 on Saturday night, giving them three more points and now joint-top of the league.

However, the French capital club could be facing punishment from the LFP after fans got too excited by singing homophobic songs, targeting the club’s number one rivals Olympique de Marseille and former midfielder Adrien Rabiot, now a player for OM.

RMC and Le Parisien both report that PSG could be punish by the league with the closure of the stands or even a fine, with the LFP set to hear the case in midweek.

French media believe that there is little chance that PSG will escape punishment because in the past, Les Parisiens fans have sung homophobic songs, which has caused the club to suffer consequences. Although the stadium announcer tried to stop them, they were boo by the fans instead.

This is not the first time PSG have been punish in such a manner, as in September 2023 the club were order to close one stand and Ousmane Dembele, Randal Kolo Mouhani, Layvin Kurzawa and Achraf Hakimi were all bann for one game ยูฟ่าเบท for participating in a song with fans after a match.
