Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak believes Sunday’s Carabao Cup final is more about two teams than anything else but he has no fear of facing Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk.

One of the big highlights of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final between Newcastle and Liverpool will be the clash between the hot-blooded forwards and the powerful defenders of Van Dijk and Isak.
“This match is not about me playing against one player, it’s about Newcastle versus Liverpool,” Isak said. “It’s about playing as a team สมัครสมาชิก UFABET วันนี้ รับเครดิตฟรีทุกวัน and what we do together.”
“Of course I try to use my qualities to improve our team. I enjoy playing against Liverpool because I think they are not that different from us.”
“I repeat, I am not afraid of anyone. I’ve great respect for Van Dijk and all their defenders. I just focus on myself.”
“I think I always do well when we play against Liverpool. I’m feel good and enjoy playing against them. If I do the right things and perform at my best, it will be good for the team.”
Isak has played against Liverpool five times, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
Isak’s 19 Premier League goals this season are only bettered by Mohamed Salah (27) and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (20) and the Newcastle star’s form has seen him speculatively linked with Arsenal and more recently Liverpool as a result.
The Reds may be in the market for a new centre-forward depending on the future of Darwin Nunez, who has suitors from the Saudi Pro League, among others, and Isak stopped short of committing himself to the Newcastle cause beyond the end of the campaign, claiming talks will take place over his next decision later this year.
